Last week I was fortunate enough to attend two very different but equally wonderful events.
Tuesday night I attended the exclusive reveal of the collaborative exhibition of framed silk scarf artworks – MONA, by global fashion photographer, Georges Antoni and the creative genius behind premium accessories label L’avion, Jo Scahill.
The exhibition showcased an unprecedented collection of eight pieces that each ‘encapsulates the beauty of a still life rose’, says Sachill, ‘Two of the artworks in the exhibition are unique designs that will not be produced into scarves or re-printed.’
MONA evolved via the mutual worlds of Antoni and Scahill colliding and enabling the opportunity for them to work together. The exhibition is a tribute to Antoni’s mother after whom the collection is named.
The exhibition was delightful, with the texture of the framed scarves giving the illusion of three dimensional rose petals. Combined with the gorgeous floral central piece and the video footage of burning roses and the vibrant tones they omit when reducing to ash, the whole gallery felt ethereal and entrancing.

Thursday night saw me head up to the SKYY Vodka hosted “Live Full Volume” party at Sydney’s Ivy Pool to mark the start of its latest national promotional campaign.
SKYY Vodka believes life’s not about fitting in, it’s about standing out! SKYY Vodka is taking its search for those who personify the brand’s spirit to the hottest bars and events around Australia.
“SKYY Vodka is looking for the loud ones, the electric ones, the ones who live full volume to become the face of its next outdoor advertising campaign.”
The Ivy Pool was lit up in cobalt blue; The Faders were spinning the decks and guests danced while they sipped SKYY Vodka cocktails. Makeup Store and Wildlife Hair offered complimentary makeovers to add a touch of glamour before party goers entered the feature centre piece, a customized SKYY Vodka photo booth, to photo record their “Live Full Volume” experience for the evening.
